The Fun Side of Learning a New Tongue

WHETHER you’re located in the eastern part or the cold northern shoreline, the European mainland is the best place in the world to learn or acquire a second language. Even though it is located in a contiguous piece of land (the European mainland) and even though it is the smallest continent in the world at that, all of its countries sharing land borders have their own languages.

Consider Russia or Poland or Turkey perhaps. They have their own distinctive languages and yet each of those tongues has its own unique beauty. It may be quite expensive to learn a new language in Paris or London or Bonn but when you go to such countries as Poland or Slovakia, then the cost of living there and even the tuition for a six-month language course may be too cheap.

But then again, that depends on which language you want to study. It also depends on the purpose of studying a language. Some want to study a second language so that it can fulfill him or her in terms of satisfying one’s thirst for another tongue. While others do it for the money and to enhance their career because they are compelled to study the language because they will be assigned in areas which need them to speak that language. Other people also want to study a second language so he can deal with businessmen who are using that as a first language.

I’m not just talking about Europe. You can study languages in the United States, Africa, the Middle East, Singapore or Australia. Other people would even love to acquire another language to study the history of mankind from a very intimate point of view. Such is the case of Latin or Hebrew scholars who want to learn the language so they can better understand what went on the minds of the peoples who lived during that period.

Without doubt, the best language schools in Europe can be found in relatively affluent countries such as Spain. Spain alone has lots of dialects and it will definitely be a privilege going to that country to learn Spanish and at the same time, acquire there several dialects such as Basque or Catalan.

And since the best language schools in Europe entail a relatively high tuition, cost of living is also high. Students enrolled here are often sponsored by the companies they work for. There are usually lots of perks associated to it when you are sponsored by your employer. The school will pump you up with excursions to the various places in the country that you are enrolled. Of course, these expenses are all paid for by your employer.

Some employers may tend to be thrift though so enrolling in an online language school is another option. You will just be staying in your home but whining may not be the best reaction to it because you will still learn another language in the end. So start searching now for a language school near you.
